The intention for the project was to create an expressive, distinctive and dynamic home. Shutter House is an imaginative and unique new home situated in Wembley, Western Australia overlooking picturesque Lake Monger (traditionally referred to as ‘Keiermulu’ by the indigenous Noongar people).
Shutter House - "Born from a desire to explore two seemingly contrasting concepts, behind a veiled façade, Shutter House unfolds as a vibrant contemporary home that balances a sense of privacy and protection with a visual connection to the views of Lake Monger beyond."
Brick House - "It’s about the holistic approach to design, especially in this house where each space feeds off of the next"
Brick House - "This industrial-style brick house in Perth is inspired by heritage factories"
Brick House - “The holistic vision for this home was to create the illusion of a renovated, heritage factory turned house"
“Historic Australian houses often feature a wide veranda and deep eaves, to include shading mechanisms and usable outdoor spaces – the bal-conies of Shutter House perform a similar function, but evolved to accommodate more adaptable uses.”
